Viktoriia Chenska graduated from the Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music in Kiev (class of Professor Galina Tuftina). A prize-winner at several international competitions, since 2007 she has been a soloist with the National Opera of Ukraine where she performs lead roles in the soprano repertoire, among them Zemfira (Aleko), Micaëla (Carmen), Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Oxana (Cherevichki), Marguerite (Faust), Iolanta (Iolanta), Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly), Giulietta (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Norma (Norma), Abigaille (Nabucco), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Manon (Manon Lescaut), Tosca (Tosca), Amelia (Un ballo in maschera) and Aida (Aida). The singer’s concert repertoire includes the soprano roles in Mozart’s Requiem, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and Missa solemnis and Verdi’s Requiem. Prize-winner at the International Ondina Otta Competition in Maribor (3rd prize in 1999 and 2001).
In March 2011 her debut in Italy as Abigaille in G. Verdi’s Nabucco at the “Opera di Roma” Theatre, conducted by Riccardo Muti.
She sang in the same role in St. Petersburg, Mariinsky Theatre.
She sang as Amelia in G. Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera, stage director Pier Luigi Pizzi, during the Sferisterio Opera Festival 2011 in Macerata
In May 2012 she sang as Floria Tosca in G. Puccini’s Tosca, stage director Stefano Poda, conductor Peter Marschik, at the Stadttheater in Klagenfurt
