Born in South Korea, Sehoon Moon earned a Bachelor’s degree in opera singing in 2011, at Dankook Unuversity in Seoul, where ho debuted in the role of Alfredo Germont in La traviata, and also played Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi. In 2011 he won second prize at the prestigious Belvedere International Competition in Austria.
He has toured extensively in South Korea. In 2013 was admitted to the Academy of Lyric Opera at La Scala, a two year-program with an intense performance schedule.
In November 2014, he performed with the Academy of Lyric Opera at the Boshoi Theater in Moscow, hosted by Bolshoi Academy, in a concert conducted by Tugan Sokhiev. In January 2015, at the Royal Opera House Muscat, he played the role of Fenton in Falstaff, directed by Stepten Medcalf. In May 2015 he was the British delegate to Kyoto for the world premiere of La Scala’s new production, CO2 by Giorgio Basttistelli. At the annual Academy of Lyric Opera concert in June, he was awarded siploma on the stage of La Scala.
In September 2016 he sang as Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor at delle Muse Theatre in Ancona.
In february 2017 he performed also as Alfredo Germont in La Traviata at Pergolesi Theatre in Jesi.
He was a finalist of the 2016 Operalia and Vinas 2017 competitions.
