Jorge Juan Morata

Jorge was born in Valencia.
Jorge studied singing technique and repertory with Carlos Chausson. He has also attended lessons of Rockwell Blake, Margreet Honig, Ricardo Visus, Raúl Gimenez, Ana Luisa Chova, among others.

As soloist, Jorge has performed in festivals and Theatres in Germany, Belgium, Slovenia, Spain, France, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Poland and USA, like the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Palau de la Música de Valencia, Teatro Arriaga de Bilbao, Teatro Gayarre de Pamplona, Early Music Festival of Whashington and Connecticut, Festival de Brezice de Eslovenia, Festival Poznań Baroque, Bayer Kultur of Leverkusen, Düsseldorf Festival, Festival of Music of Paderborn, Festival Kasteelconcerten of Holland, Öt Templom Festival de Györ, Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, Saint-Cyprien Festival, Sarrebourg Festival International de Musique, Teatro Coccia di Novara, Marchesato Opera Festival de Saluzzo, Teatro Giuseppe Verdi di Acquiterme, Il Maggiore di Verbania, Grand Théâtre de Provence, Musikfestspiele of Potsdam or the Ciclo de Cantatas de J.S. Bach de la Comunidad de Madrid.
He performs regularly with La Chimera (Eduardo Egüez), Euskal Barrokensemble(Enrike Solinis), L´arte del mondo orchestra (Massimiliano Toni,Werner Ehrhardt), Le Parlement de Musique (Martin Gester), Le Tendre Amour (Esteban Mazer y Katy Elkin), Capella Weilburgensis (Doris Hagel), Nova Lux Ensemble, Arsys de bourgogne (Mathieu Romano) or Capella Saetabis (Rodrigo Madrid) and Recondita Armonia (Lixsania Fernandez).
He counts in his repertory performances of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and “Bastien und Bastienne” ; Donizetti’s “L´elisir d´amore”, as Nemorino and in “Rita, le mari battu”, as Beppe ; Handel´s “Acis and Galatea”, as Damon ; Rossini´s “L´occasione fa il ladro”, “L´inganno felice” and “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” ; Monteverdi´s “Orfeo” ; Purcell ´s “Fairy Queen”; Seymour Barab´s “The Toy Shop”; Rousseau´s “Le Devin du Village“, as Colin ; Tomás de Torrejón y Velasco´s “La Púrpura de la Rosa”; and the premiere of David Gálvez’s “El Guardainfante”
His religious repertory includes Rossini´s “Petite messe solennelle”; Handel’s “Messiah”, “Magnificat”, “Johannes Passion” (Evangelist), “Matheus Passion” (Evangelist and Arias), and several J.S Bach’s cantatas; Vivaldi’s “Magnificat”; Mozart’s “Krönungs-Messe”, “Missa in C minor” and “Réquiem”; “Jephte” of Carissimi, “Notus In Judea”of Charpentier, Fernando Sor´s “Cantata a la Duchessa de l ´Albufera”, Martínez Báguena’s “Preclarum Calicem” and José Vivo’s cantata “Mare Dolorosa”.
Jorge has recorded a Cd with the Cantatas Italianas of Handel for the label Brilliant Classics.
